Sikafloor®-20 PurCem® CN

High Strength Coloured Polyurethane Floor Screed

Sikafloor®-20 PurCem® CN is a resin rich, easy to trowel, heavy duty, solid colour, four-components , water dispersed polyurethane-based / cement and aggregate screed designed to provide excellent resistance to abrasion, impact, chemical attack and other physical aggression. Sikafloor®-20 PurCem® CN has a textured aggregate surface providing medium to heavy profile slip resistance. Typically installed at 6 to 9 mm thickness.

  • Easy installation requiring less labour to install than traditional Sikafloor® PurCem (CN) trowel grade materials.
  • Resists a very wide range of organic and inorganic acids, alkalis, amines, salts and solvents. Consult Sika Technical Sales for full details. Refer to the Sikafloor® PurCem (CN) Chemical Resistance Chart.
  • Similar coefficient of thermal expansion to concrete allowing movement with the substrate through normal thermal cycling. It will perform and retain its physical characteristics through a wide temperature range from -40°C up to 120°C.
  • Steam cleanable at 9 mm thickness.
  • Bond strength in excess of the tensile strength of concrete, concrete will fail first.
  • Non-taint, odourless.
  • Behaves plastically under impact / deforms but will not crack or debond.
  • Natural textured surface through the entire life of the product.
  • Extra Expansion joints are not necessary; simply maintain and extend existing expansion joints up through the Sikafloor® PurCem (CN) Flooring System.

Usage

  • Sikafloor®-20 PurCem® CN floors are primarily used to protect concrete substrates, but are equally effective over most steel surfaces that have been properly prepared and supported.
  • Typically used in food processing plants, wet & dry process areas, freezers & coolers, thermal shock areas, dairies, breweries, wineries, distilleries, laboratories, chemical process plants, pulp and paper plants, warehouses and storage areas.

Application steps

EQUIPMENT

  • Sikafloor®-20 PurCem® CN must be thoroughly mixed using a low speed electric stirrer (300 -400rpm) or other suitable equipment.

MIXING

  • Mixing will be affected by temperature; condition materials for use from 18°C to 25°C.
  • Stir part A first for approx. 15 seconds. Add part B, and mix for approx. 30 seconds with low speed mixer.
  • While mixing, add simultaneously but slowly (DON’T DUMP!) the 2 bags of part C (powder) and the bag of part D (pigment pack) within 15 seconds.
  • Further mix for 2 minutes until the mixture is homogeneous and the pigment is uniformly dispersed.Mix full units only.

APPLICATION

  • Primer:Use Sikafloor®-10/-24N PurCem (CN) for the primer.Please refer to individual primer Product Data Sheet.
  • Topcoat:After waiting the appropriate overcoating time / curing, pour the mixed Sikafloor®-20 PurCem® CN onto the primer and spread evenly using a squeegee at the required consumption. Then using a short-piled roller, back roller in two directions at right angles to each other. A seamless finish can be achieved if a ‘wet’ edge is maintained during application.
  • Application on Slopes > 2%:To minimize movement and improve the application characteristics on slopes greater than 2%, add an additional 10% by weight [3.9 kg ] of Sikafloor®-20 PurCem® CN part C powder to each 50kg unit mix.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with Thinner C immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

CLEANING

Sikafloor® PurCem (CN) floors are easily cleaned using a stiff brushing action and or high-pressure water, preferably hot, and even live steam. Degreasing agents and detergents will assist, but do not use any compounds containing Phenol as the floor colour may be damaged. Consult the cleaning compound manufacturer’s printing directions before use.
