Sikalastic®-701 SF

2-part polyaspartic top coat for liquid applied membrane roof waterproofing systems

Sikalastic®-701 SF is a 2-part, high performance, polyaspartic top coat for low odour Sika® Liquid Applied Membrane roof waterproofing systems. It contains 100 % solids and is part of the SikaRoof PUR two component solvent free polyurea systems.

Usage

The Product is used as a UV resistant top coat for:
  • Sikalastic®-702
The Product is used for the following waterproofing applications:
  • Newly applied or renovating existing membranes

Storage Conditions

The Product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C. Always refer to packaging.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Preconditions

Confirm waiting time to overcoating has been achieved for the previously applied system base layer.

  1. If the maximum overcoating time of the base layer is exceeded, prepare the surface of the existing coating using mechanical grinding equipment.
  2. Remove dust and contamination from the prepared surface using vacuum extraction equipment.
 

MIXING

IMPORTANT

Do not dilute with solvent or water.

TOP COAT MIXING PROCEDURE

  1. Mix Part A (resin) until the coloured pigment is dispersed and a uniform colour is achieved.
  2. Add Part B (hardener) to Part A.
  3. IMPORTANT Do not mix excessively. Mix Part A + B continuously for ~3 minutes until a uniformly coloured mix is achieved.
  4. To ensure thorough mixing, pour materials into another container and mix again to achieve a smooth and uniform mix.
  5. During the final mixing stage, scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixing container with a flat or straight edge trowel at least once to ensure complete mixing.

APPLICATION

IMPORTANT

Application by trained personnel

The application of this Product must only be carried out by an applicator that is trained or approved by Sika. The applicator must also be experienced in this type of application.

IMPORTANT

Risk of fumes entering air conditioning units

Do not apply close to running air conditioning unit intake vents. Switch off units and seal intakes before applying.

  1. Apply the Product in one coat by roller, brush or spray equipment to achieve a consistent thickness and required surface finish.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
