Ronabond® EP 22S is a low viscosity epoxy resin for use as a sand binder in flooring screeds or as a low viscosity crack injection resin. Ronabond® EP 22S is a high strength resin and is capable of restoring structural integrity.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Substrates must be sound, clean, free from oil and grease, old coatings and surface treatments etc.

The outer substrates of concrete within 5 cm on both sides of the cracks shall be polished. Cracks must be cleaned to remove dust and water by using compressed air.

MIXING

Add component B to component A. Mix with an electric mixer at slow speed (max. 250 rpm) for at least 3 minutes. Avoid entraining air. Mix only that quantity which can be used within its pot life.

APPLICATION

Cracks in horizontal slabs:

Deadweight method : Chisel V-grooves at least 1 cm wide. The mixed Ronabond® EP 22S is injected into the cracks. The resin slowly penetrates into the cracks. The deadweight method is generally not suitable for the joints through the members, nor for the joints with very small width.

Pressure grouting method: Set grouting mouth every 30 ~ 50 cm. Seal all gaps. According to the actual situation, one or more exhaust ports should be set on the seam. Use single component grouting machine (such as aliva al-1200 or other manual grouting pump) and special syringe to inject the mixed resin into the joint. Grouting should be carried out one by one, and the grouting pressure should be maintained at 0.2 ~ 0.3 MPa. After grouting at each grouting port, the pressure shall be maintained for 5 ~ 10 minutes.

After the resin hardens completely, cut off the grouting nozzle and grind off the sealing material.

Cracks in vertical structures:

Generally, pressure grouting method is used to carry out grouting construction from bottom to top one by one.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all equipment immediately. Cured material can only be removed mech-anically.
